ASHLEY COOK, PHD, MS-LPC
Therapist, Owner
You are the expert on your life and your own experiences. Together, we will create space for you to heal. Although at times you may feel broken, you aren’t in need of fixing; you are navigating systems that are unsatisfactory, which can leave anyone feeling fragmented. Support is the driving factor for change, and I aim to support you through whatever changes present themselves on your path to feeling whole. My clients begin to feel a sense of wholeness that comes from accepting their thoughts and feelings as valid parts of a human experience. These moments of connection in therapy extend into relationships with others and yourself.
I came to my work as a therapist by way of a doctorate in the humanities. This has given me a curiosity about the human experience and self-expression, as well as expertise in seeking and examining cultural constructs and systems impacting individuals. Together we will explore the external and internal patterns in your life that shape your experiences.
I am trained in EMDR and I am especially interested in working with sexual trauma and complex trauma. I am passionate about exploring body-related issues through an anti-diet culture and trauma informed lens. I work with individuals who have experienced trauma or systemic impacts on the LGBTQIA+ experience
